Sooooo...it's been a long time since I've blogged here! I'm certain that I am not the only one that has struggled in the last year in many ways, so I know you likely understand. I, as well as some of the members of our household, struggled with the lockdowns and their inevitable effects. I dropped blogging here for a while due to mental health stuff, as I needed to take care of myself and focus on caring for my family members too. All this pandemic stuff isn't going anywhere, anytime soon (although I desperately wish it would) and I know I need to keep safeguarding my mental health. One way I will be doing this is by choosing to avoid Facebook-land for a while as it has become a somewhat toxic place for me with many strong opinions--and a high number of people posting with little to no compassion to those that see things different from them. So with the big C, restrictions, possibly more lockdowns, AND a big election coming up, it was time to schedule a break!
This fall as we head into a new school year, things will look a little different around here. Carson has chosen to head to the Christian high school for his Grade 9 Year. Megan has found an incredible part time job, Monday-Friday in the mornings, so we will be doing her Grade 12 homeschooling in the afternoons for the year. And the "Littles" will be working on their schooling with me in the mornings. This year brings with it a more rigid schedule than we are used to, but I think it will be great for all of us!
God answered our prayers and provided Alvin with a new job which he will start on Monday which is much closer and has really great benefits. He should be able to drop Carson off at school and this will simplify our days...
I find creative endeavours to be a great way to relieve stress, and I hope to share some of the recipes and crafts and such that I do this fall, here on the blog. Thanks for joining me here...I look forward to including you in my life here again!
Lastly, I just wanted to remind you what I find I need to remind myself--to fix my eyes on Jesus, rather than the storm going on all around me...
