This summer, we let our bird feeders go empty, since there is plenty of food that's easy to find for birds during the beautiful and warm days of summer. We still saw plenty of birds during that time. Robins, sparrows, mourning doves, killdeer and even an oriole to name a few. Because of my interest in birdwatching, Marissa has been taking an interest and learning to identify them too. It's amazing how quickly she has been picking things up!
And now with the cooler weather we decided to refill our feeders and wow-did the birds come! The types of bird we are seeing has changed recently as some of the ones visiting us are likely migrating, they are ones that we don't see in summer or winter, just in the in between seasons. Its amazing what observations you can make once you've been paying attention to your feathered friends for a while!
Yesterday, I was finally able to capture a blue jay with my phone camera (I really need to get myself a much better quality camera some day--I love taking pictures!) and that made me happy! They are pretty skittish if they see you moving, so this is the first time I've gotten a decent picture at all...
Anyways, I just wanted to post a few pictures for you to enjoy, of just some of the birds that visited us yesterday morning!
